In this role, you will provide technical oversight of the project’s ES&H compliance activities through inspection of project field execution activities. You will assist project and construction management in implementing and complying with project safety requirements and in addressing ES&H issues as they arise during project execution. You will work directly with other project-level functions (e.g., engineering, construction, subcontracts, procurement, project controls, document controls) to assist them in addressing the applicable ES&H requirements in their work activities and conduct daily site surveillance to verify adequate use of PPE, routine equipment inspections, project ES&H initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates a wide variety of Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate implementation of ES&H program and ES&H Management System, including aiding compliance with company's ES&H standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
- Delivers toolbox talks and participates in site meetings with project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety requirements.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary for the safety and health of employees and protection of the environment and communities.
- Maintains ES&H databases, inclusive of incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions. Performs statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement and makes recommendations accordingly.
- Prepares communications, writes reports, and prepares documents for program execution and records retention.
- Coordinates incident notifications, leads investigations, and prepares incident investigation reports.
- Participates in and may lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
- Coordinates ES&H recognition programs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910.
- Can perform root cause analysis as needed for incident investigations.
- Conducts Project Contractor Orientation Leads and implements Project ESH Audits, monitoring completion of specified corrective actions.
- Coaches Contractor Project and Safety Team on the companies processes and expectations
- Knowledge of safety programs/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of national safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies’ regulatory requirements and responsibilities, industry standards/current practices for ES&H, and best
- Experience in ES&H assessments/inspection during construction.
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of ES&H subcontractors or consultants.
