Construction Safety Associate.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Associate to support a 4-week solar construction project in Williamsport, Ohio. The Safety Associate will provide field-level safety support while crews perform active construction and infrared (IR) scanning of equipment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction safety experience, with solar construction experience highly preferred, and must be comfortable working in an environment where FR (flame-resistant) clothing is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and safety observations.
- Monitor construction activities and infrared scanning operations for compliance with OSHA and project safety requirements.
- Identify hazards and work with supervisors and crews to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct and/or assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and worker orientations.
- Monitor proper PPE use and safe work practices.
- Support safety oversight of crews performing infrared scanning and related equipment activities.
- Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and documentation.
- Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and required documentation.
- Communicate safety expectations effectively with craft personnel, supervisors, and project leadership.
- Support emergency response and site-specific safety procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- OSHA 500.
- OSHA 30.
- Ability and willingness to wear FR clothing and required PPE while on site.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to identify hazards and communicate corrective actions to field personnel.
- Ability to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods.
