The Construction Safety Manager will oversee all safety activities for a large-scale data center construction project, with a strong focus on underground utilities, excavation, trenching, and heavy civil construction. This role will ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, project safety standards, and client expectations while promoting a proactive safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enforce site-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct daily site inspections, safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
- Provide oversight of excavation, trenching, underground utilities, and other high-risk construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project leadership to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Maintain required safety documentation, reports, permits, and corrective actions.
- Lead emergency preparedness, fall protection, confined space, and excavation safety programs.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably on data center, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Extensive experience with excavation, trenching, underground utilities, and heavy civil construction.
- BCSP certification required — CSP, CHST, or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510/511 certification required (as applicable to project requirements).
