The Construction Safety Associate will play a critical role in supporting daily safety operations on-site. This individual will be highly visible in the field, working directly with contractors and project teams to ensure compliance, reinforce safe behaviors, and proactively mitigate risk.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong field presence (90%+ of time) to monitor job site safety conditions and behaviors.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions in real time.
- Partner with superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Lead and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning sessions.
- Observe work activities across multiple trades (mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; document findings and support corrective action plans.
- Reinforce positive safety behaviors while coaching and mentoring workers on best practices.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with emergency response as needed and coordinate with on-site personnel.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Ability to work independently and remain highly engaged in a fast-paced field environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage craft workers and leadership.
- Experience supporting multiple trades and scopes of work.
- OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 500/510 or equivalent preferred).
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
